So even if I were to embark on What I Think About Global Warming or How I Feel About the IMF, I know before I even start that you\u2019d end up laughing your socks off at me, and I\u2019d be left feeling a bit\u2026inadequate.\u00a0 Not to mention totally confused and supremely out of my depth because although I\u2019d like to expound with authority on such topics of general interest \u2013 well, quite frankly \u2013 I am pants at it.\u00a0 I end up leaving myself wondering what I\u2019ve just said, and that is a not a very good starting point.<\/p>\n So \u2013 as I have already started with Alice, perhaps that will be my thought for the day.<\/p>\n (The White Rabbit put on his spectacles.\u00a0 \u201cWhere shall I begin, please your Majesty?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n \u201cBegin at the beginning,\u201d the King said gravely, \u201cand go on till you come to the end: then stop.\u201d)<\/p>\n It is, after all, one of my favourite books of all time .\u00a0 I love the absurdity of it all \u2013 the non sequitur conversations and the completely insane logic of life in Wonderland.\u00a0 It\u2019s perfect for me \u2013 full of questions that don\u2019t have to be answered\u00a0 (\u201cWhy is a raven like a writing-desk?\u201d) and arguments, which never get anywhere.\u00a0 I am perfect at that sort of thing.\u00a0 I LOVE the idea of just talking a whole lot of rubbish and not having to explain myself. \u00a0Ask my mum.<\/p>\n The thing I like most about Wonderland is that it is full of mad advice that, the more you think about it, the more sane it becomes.\u00a0 Take this example from the Mad Hatter\u2019s Tea Party:<\/p>\n \u201cThen you should say what you mean,\u201d the March Hare went on.<\/p>\n \u201cI do,\u201d Alice hastily replied; \u201cat least\u2014at least I mean what I say\u2014that\u2019s the same thing, you know.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cNot the same thing a bit!\u201d said the Hatter. \u201cYou might just as well say that \u2018I see what I eat\u2019 is the same thing as \u2018I eat what I see\u2019!\u201d<\/p>\n And he\u2019s absolutely right!\u00a0 I can think of a million times when what I have said is not what I mean, and when what I mean is completely ruined by what I have said.\u00a0 Words have power, so really we should only use them when we have something to say… so, on that wise note, I shall retire for the night.<\/p>\n ( With one last thought from Lewis, to all my (two) Followers\u2026<\/p>\n \u201cBut I don\u2019t want to go among mad people,\u201d Alice remarked.<\/p>\n \u201cOh, you can\u2019t help that,\u201d said the Cat: \u201cwe\u2019re all mad here.
